PDF/Print export: body text overflows page margins across all stylesheets (recurs after preference reset)

Viewed 47

Description of the issue:

When exporting a document to PDF or using the Print function, the body text overflows beyond the page margins. The text is visually clipped or runs off the edge of the page rather than wrapping correctly within the defined print area. This does not appear to affect the preview, only the PDF export and print output.

Note: This issue was previously resolved by resetting all preferences, but has since reappeared with no apparent direct cause. The problem persists across multiple stylesheets.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open a Markdown document in Marked 2 (sample document attached).
  2. Select File > Export > PDF (or File > Print).
  3. Observe that body text in the exported PDF / print preview exceeds the page margins.

I haven't been able to pinpoint this issue, but for Marked 2 users on macOS 26 there seems to be a host of PDF problems. I'm not currently developing on Marked 2 at all, and it will be a while before I come back around to it. All of my focus is on Marked 3, which has an entirely rewritten PDF generator. If you'd like to try it out, go to https://markedapp.com/join-the-beta.

If I figure out what's going on in the meantime, I'll publish an update to v2.

EDIT: I'm curious if something about the print system has changed at all. If you save the document as HTML (embedding style) and open it in Safari, does printing the page give you more expected results?

I just noticed it the last couple of days. Everything cIt was wonderful until this happened. Now it's making the tool very difficult to use. I don't know if you updated the app or if I took a Mac OS update that caused this, but it's very sad. It's making me look for another tool, and I really don't want to move.

I haven't updated Marked 2 in over a year, so it wasn't anything that changed on my end. All of my time is going into Marked 3 right now, so if you're interested in trying that out, it would be the ideal place to "move to."
