Tabs vs. Single Window?

Viewed 9

Apologies in advance if I'm missing something. :)

Marked 3.0.3 1127.

I have Settings > General > Window > Open documents in tabs = unchecked

When I open a second document it opens in tabs. Doesn't seem to matter how I open, Finder double-click, right-click Open..., Marked File | Open.

I've toggled the settings checkbox a few times.

It's completely possible, I'm doing something wrong or I'm not understanding the intended behavior.

Hm, thanks for the report. I'll double check this. After I implemented tabs I found it so much better that I stopped testing without them, so I may have broken that in reverse. Will get back to you.

Update: Marked only sets the preference for windows or tabs, but if tabs is disabled, it still respects the system setting. Any chance you have "open in tabs" set in the OS settings?

Either way, I'm making Marked more respectful of having that option off, and making deference to the system setting an "Automatic" option, separate from just disabling tabs. Will be in the next update.

No worries -- it's completely possible this will make me try them long enough to realize I prefer them too. :)

I don't know if the files came through or if you actually need them, but lmk and I can add a gdrive link.

I don't need your config files for this one. See my edit above for an update.

Indeed, I do have Open in tabs set to true in Finder settings. Out of curiosity, I unchecked it in Finder, confirmed tabs were still unset in Marked, restarted Marked, and tested it again -- it still opened files in tabs.
