Hi, longtime user of Marked 2. Just purchased M3. On M2, no problem scrolling on a preview of a 1MB text document with no bells and whistles. On M3, I was sure to disable memory intensive features for large docs, as I did with M2. I get a kernel panic beachball when I preview a 1MB doc (a .txt file) and attempt to scroll down. Is there a setting I am missing? Using default MultiMarkdown processor.

1MB+ pushes the limits, but you can still disable memory intensive features from the same setting. It should disable most of the things that cause it to hang, but there are a lot of features that can bog down on huge documents. If you use Help->Report an issue, you'll get a zip of your config that you can send me for testing. If possible, please also include the document you're testing on (feel free to use email to keep it private).
If I can fully test with your environment, I can either offer a solution, or start coding on a fix for this.
