Marked QL outside the Mac App Store & future development

Question

Hi Brett,

I'm currently evaluating Marked QL and have two questions before purchasing.

Are there any plans to offer Marked QL outside the Mac App Store, similar to Marked 3 with a direct license purchase? I generally prefer buying directly from developers whenever possible.
Do you plan to develop and maintain Marked QL as actively as Marked 3, with regular feature updates and improvements, or will it mainly receive maintenance and compatibility updates?

I'm asking because I'd like to know whether Marked QL is intended to become a long-term companion product or remain a lightweight Quick Look extension.

Yes to #1. I'm working on getting it into Setapp first, and then will deal with setting it up either through Paddle or the Setapp direct marketplace.

Yes, just as actively, and I plan to continue developing Apex, which will soon find its way into Marked 3 as well, so it will benefit both.

That said, it will always be a lightweight quick look extension. Great paired with Marked 3 for more advanced features, but it's not going to get the depth of features beyond just being a really solid quick look plugin that operates with any Markdown flavor.
