Is it possible to update (or customize?) the version of Mermaid used in the preview window? I would like to preview some diagram types that are only available in the current (11.16.0) version.

There's no way to disable the internal version of Mermaid. You can add your own using Custom Rules, but it would probably conflict with the built-in version. But I'll update the version for the next release.
