I looked around and couldn't find any way to configure Marked 2 (version 2.5.29 (968)) to do the following, and it would help me immensely with my workflow if it did.

1: During a Save As: Export to..., overwrite the output file without always asking permission (in other words, a silent export), potentially with the second option enabled, which would be:

2: Open in Preview
I would have no objection to an alternative: sending a temporary file directly to Preview and let me inspect and save it from there.

    1. That is rarely an option in a Mac app, and one that I fear might
cause data loss for people who accidentally configure it. I'm working on
some automation tools that will allow for automatic overwrites, but
making it part of the save dialog seems ill-fated to me.

    2. You can use Print and then Open In Preview from the dropdown in the
left. The results should be identical to using Paginated PDF export.

Thank you for your explanation on the overwrite request. I agree with your fear for the inexperienced. Perhaps a plist option changeable with the defaults command for those of us living on the edge?

I used your option 2 workaround and it works well. I have to use my mouse to get to the Open in Preview option, and a keyboard shortcut from Marked 2 to Open in Preview would be a nice enhancement.

None of my suggestions are high priority for me, but because I can use Marked 2 to preview asciidoctor documents while working in any editor, it has become a permanent addition to my workflow for generating the resulting PDF. I just spent the last week generating syllabi and nine assignment writeups using BBEdit and Marked 2 to PDF for my upcoming Scripting class, with great success. Thank you.

If by "automation tools" you are considering making Marked 2 (more) scriptable with Applescript/Javascript, that would be an outstanding solution for me.

    Thanks again.
