Marked 2 can show word count for selection with a small popup. It can also display the footnote at the bottom of the window when moving mouse over the footnote marker. But the position is not entirely satisfactory。

So here is a suggestion about footnote feature:

Add an option in Preferences to display a footnote popup very close to the footnote marker while moving the mouse over it. This would be more friendly to users.
