CriticMarkup highlights not visible in PDF or print - intentional?

Marked 2 Version 2.5.23 (958) on OS-X 10.13.6 (17G65) will show CriticMarkup highlights in yellow, but will not export the yellow background to PDF or print. Comments (when enabled for display on the settings->apps tab) will display in Orange, and these do appear in print. (In both cases with Markup view selected)

Is this an intentional behaviour or a bug?
