OPML export, or RTF/DOCX etc with structure?

Hi!
I'm working on exporting some Markdown files to a format for a word processor (Mellel / Nisus), that includes structure (heading levels etc).

If I export to DOCX or RTF, it seems I get the formatted text, but it's not structured, with headings being recognized as heading styles etc.
If I export as OPML (which Mellel can read), I get the structure, but the markdown between is not rendered at all.

Is there a way to get both structure AND formatting? ;)

The current versions of the exports can't do structured rich text. I
have a new RTF engine in the works, and hope to have it published soon.

_Some_ word processors can import HTML and successfully create the
structured document, so you might try exporting HTML with styles and see
    what happens.
