I'm using Byword with Marked, and although my footnotes render correctly in the Byword preview, they don't in Marked. I must have checked or unchecked some obscure option. What am I doing wrong?

Here is my callout in the .mmd file: According to a Springer Publishing survey from last year,[fn1]

And here is my footnote text, after a newline: [fn1]: Text text.

Do you have 'Markdown Compatibility' checked? It should be off.

Not idiotic, I really think I need to rename that option to make more sense to new users.

Brett, hi. I'm running into the same issue. I am using the Custom Markdown Processor file you sent the other day. When I disable that, my footnotes render. When it is enabled, my footnotes don't render. Thanks in advance for any help you might be able to provide.

The custom processor doesn't support footnotes. You only get support for whatever your custom processor can handle, once you override the default processor you lose ALL of its capabilities. You'll need to find a custom processor that can handle all of your various syntaxes, or just stick to using MultiMarkdown.
