Extra blanks when saving a document containing math as PDF

(I'm posting this a second time as it seems my first post didn't make it into the forum.)

I'm attaching a simple Markdown file along with the generated PDF. For at least some of the CSS options in Marked (Byword, Antique, Swiss, Amblin, Upstanding citizen), extra space is added after the math bits. This only seems to happen if the math bits will contain spaces themselves when rendered. For instance, it doesn't happen with \\( x^2 \\) but it does happen with\\( x^2 + y^2 \\). This doesn't happen with other CSS options (Github, Multi-column, IA Writer).

I'm using Mountain Lion 10.8.2.

That's interesting. I can't currently explain this but will definitely look into the issue.
