hello. i'm trying to decide if i should buy marked 2 and am using a free trial. everytime i drag a scriv file onto the marked 2 icon it opens a document and shows "compiling", but the marked 2 window stays blank. i've tried several files and have made edits and saved the scriv file several times with no luck in seeing my document in the marked 2 window.

can you please help me figure out what i am doing wrong?

thanks

Here's another build to test that should fix the unescaped ls issue: https://from.ttscoff.me/Marked2.6.351060.zip

Again, don't overwrite your local copy, just run it from the downloads folder and see if it makes a difference on Scrivener documents.

Thanks. That works for me on the document that previously failed, though as I said the production version was able to process that one second time around.

However, it fails (and so does 2.6.33) on a complex Scrivener document I hadn't previously tried. Rendered and source view are both empty, and scrivcompile.rb produces neither text nor error message.

This is a 180 MB file – basically a writing repository that's full of PDFs – so I really have no need for Marked to render it. Still, I suppose the Markdown content is pretty small.

No errors from scrivcompile.rb? That's frustrating. I don't suppose you
could share this 180MB file with me privately. If you're open to putting
it on a server or Dropbox, you can email "me at brettterpstra.com" with
a link. If it's too private, I understand.

    hi Brett,
hope your week is going well

i thought i’d just touch base with you on this. looks like i was copied on a few emails between you and another person with a similar issue, but the last test you had me try didn’t quite work. it allowed me to see the names of the sections, but not the contents of the text files.

just wanted to to make sure you weren’t waiting on anything from me.

    thanks
    shane

Shane, just to be sure, you got the latest version (the second one I
posted to this thread, build 1060)? If you're getting titles of the
sections, it indicates the compile script is at least executing. Can you
provide a sample Scrivener document that displays this behavior for me?

I can't remember at this point which version you're using, but if you
have the Mac App Store version you can go to Help->Crossgrade and get a
license for the direct version. If you're using the Setapp version
contact me (https://brettterpstra.com/contact/) and I'll get you a
license that will allow you to run the direct version.

i’m still hoping to be able to use the markdown app for my book work.

is there anything else you need from me to troubleshoot?

    wanted to follow up again.

i hate bugging you. do you think you are going to be able to help or should i give up?

Shane, so sorry to drop off of this. If I'm reading correctly, you were unable to try the test version I posted because your trial of the direct version had expired. If that's the case, please email me and I'll get you a license.

If I'm forgetting and you've already tried the test build, I'll need to start searching for the bug again. Thanks for keeping me on this one :).

Hmm. I don't find an email from you with the license info.

Would it have come from a different email address?
