Need "Cross Grade to Direct Version"

here is what I need
"Preview Bear notes in Marked by selecting View->Preview in Marked from within Bear. If you’re running the Mac App Store version of Bear, you may run into issues with being repeatedly asked for permission to open a directory. If this happens, please contact support for a free cross-grade to the direct version." Thank you

I bought a license Marked 2 years ago via Paddle. But that license code didn't work. So I just went to the App Store to buy, thinking it would "remember" my purchase better. Now I find that doesn't work either.
