Grey column on the left

When I load a markdown file, I see a grey column on the left side of the view window (attached). This happens when loading the file from multiple sources, such as Bear and Paper. I am running Mojave 10.14.5 (18F132) and Marked 2.5.33 (974).

    Yes, I've been trying to figure that one out. It goes away if you scroll a bit, but annoying nonetheless. Working on it.
