I try to open a file from my Dropbox synched folders (Leanpub), and it crashes with the attached stacktrace. Even if there is something wrong, I'd expect an error message rather than a crash. Thanks!

Hmm, so apparently this has nothing to do with Dropbox, as I have just copied the file to my ~/ folder, and I'm still getting the crash.

Further details, now that I know it's not the fault of Dropbox:
    - first attempt at using marked (I've not used it before), so it didn't just start crashing
    - happens with many files (even empty files)
    - I am an admin user on my mac (the exception seems to be sometimes caused because of this?)

Do you have the system ruby available at /usr/bin/ruby? If not, Marked requires that a ruby binary be accessible at that path.

Nope. Mine looks like it is in /usr/local/bin/ruby

I copied it to /usr/bin/ruby, and indeed it works now.

This should have a better error message. I'm pretty sure I didn't move ruby myself, but it's possible I did something to make it non-standard. Still, it shouldn't crash.

    Thanks!

The next version does the following:

    1. Uses the system framework ruby, which usually stays intact even with rvm.
    2. Does a test and warns on launch if it's not accessible, avoids crash.

I will probably work these changes into the 1.4 App Store version and submit after my current round of fixes is approved.
