I'm confused. If you're previewing something like an iThoughts map and you wanted to edit it, wouldn't you want to do it in iThoughts? Otherwise you're divorcing your preview from the original map. It seems more sensible to just export Markdown directly from iThoughts once you're ready to edit it separately without concern for continuity.

Maybe I'm not understanding what you mean. Marked can set a default editor for Markdown files (and image files) and in cases like Scrivener, MindNode, and iThoughts, it defaults to editing in the source application.

Please explain further if you have the time.

Bretttag:support.markedapp.com,2011-09-11:Comment/489851392021-01-21T16:03:36Z2021-01-21T16:03:37ZDefault editors

looks like I just looked not carefully enough through the documentation
to find just what I need: the place to set an editor an a method to call
to find it.

so sorry for the noise --- it is catered for as I can now see.
