I've had a look there also and it's not clear to me how the
spell checking and grammar checks work. I can't see the phrase
spell or check, and when I put deliberate spelling mistakes in my
document they aren't highlighted in any way. When I do find it, is
there are way of setting it to UK English? Thanks - Nigel

Nigeltag:support.markedapp.com,2011-09-11:Comment/384182492015-11-12T15:25:01Z2015-11-12T15:25:01ZHow to use spelling/grammar checker?

You turn spellcheck on for each document, with the shortcut
⌘; (or
from the menu). It will remain on while the document is open or
until
it's toggled off.

The UK English issue is one I'm working on, it currently seems
to ignore
system settings for english-language machines, and assumes it's
US
English.
