does Marked 2 support pandoc syntax highlighting?

In pandoc markdown, syntax identifiers work like this:

~~~~{.python}
some code
~~~~

But the language specifier doesn't seem to work in Marked2, even when I use pandoc as the custom processor.

Is this what others see as well?

Thanks,

    I'm unfamiliar with this syntax, apparently. Marked accepts a token like that _after_ the closing fence, but not at the beginning. If this is common notation I'll have to make some code adjustments.

    Here is the description:

    But now on closer examination, I see that pandoc will also accept your format, that is:

    ~~~~ruby
    code
    ~~~~

    So I'll just use that. Thanks!

    I am interested in having Marked2 support syntax highlighting for pandoc's fenced code blocks.
    I use them intensively and proper syntax highligting is improving quality a lot.

    Thanks for considering this request
