Footnotes printed at end of each .pdf page instead as endnotes?

Under the current 1.4 build, footnotes only appear as endnotes when printing or exporting as .pdf

Could a toggle between footnotes and endnotes be a future feature for printing / .pdf export? Markdown/Multi-markdown footnotes are not really true footnotes, but Markdown was not really designed for pagination anyways. It would help when producing more journal-length academic writings to be able to shift the 'endnotes' to a 'footnote' - appearing at the bottom of each printed page. This is an important feature to me in Scrivener ('footnotes appear before pagebreak'), but was curious know if this could be done in Marked as well.

I would love to make this happen, but as you noted MultiMarkdown was never designed to handle pagination and the webkit print system does not allow me to inject anything per page. No amount of text processing is going to allow me to detect what footnotes go with what page and properly insert them when printing. I just don't see it being feasible.

if I manage to pull off the more customized print system I've been working on, I may be able to rig up something like this, but that's looking like it's a ways off still.

Well thanks, for now I will wrestle with LaTeX/XeTeX and peg-markdown!
