Couple of questions about equations

Hi,
I've just started working with maths equations in MMD (Latex -> MathJax) and they generally work great, however there are two small issues I was wondering about:

  1. Is it possible to left align equations rather than have them display in the centre of the page?

  2. Is there any way to number an equation - to have it appear at the end of the line the equation appears on.

Thanks a lot.

Paul

I'm afraid these questions are beyond my realm of expertise (I've never actually used MathJax). I believe that the styling is part of MathJax itself… can you shoot me a sample document so I can look at the markup and see if it's something I can affect?

No worries Brett - I realise it's a nice extra you include in Marked. I've included a txt file, but it's nothing new to what you already know - just a few equations I'm playing around with trying to format. The left alignment isn't essential, and I thought if I really wanted to include equation numbers I can annotate them into an exported pdf (not ideal I know). But this still seems to be a nicer way to do equations then using Word.

    Thanks

Upon testing I was correct, the style for the MathJax inclusions is loaded by MathJax itself, so stylesheets can't override it. If you really wanted to, it would be possible to script a style change with JavaScript…

As far as numbering equations in the way you want, I'm afraid that's not inherently possible with Markdown at all. Sorry!
