Footnotes at bottom of page

I'd like to be able to export Obsidian to a PDF with footnotes placed at the bottom of each page. Based on the link below from 2012 and my best guess, that was not possible because of the way Webkit handles rendering HTML. Is this still a limitation of Webkit and Marked 2? If so, I'll look into using Pandoc.
