link to the most recent stable build for SL
has been provided for free.

Given that the App Store will not allow new users on Snow
Leopard to purchase the app, I don't consider a public apology on
the marketing page to be a necessity. Anyone who asks will find
that a stable build is available that will last for as long as they
use 10.6.

Bretttag:support.markedapp.com,2011-09-11:Comment/151956622012-04-11T21:57:46Z2012-04-11T21:57:47Zsnow leopard stranded

brett-

i was perfectly clear i wasn't making a complaint.

and i most certainly never asked for "an apology".

and i knew about the "stable build" because i
happened to see a tweet to that effect, but...
i do think it would be nice to inform the people
who have purchased the app in the past that
you offer a "stable build" even if they do not
happen to follow you on twitter, or ask for that.

to me, that shows respect for former customers,
which helps make sure they stay customers...

i also made a reasonable attempt to find out if
the topic was raised here before, and couldn't.

i understand your desire to move forward, and
i know you talked it over with twitter followers,
but the fact still stands that your past customers
got less than 9 months of updates before their
snow leopard systems were stranded and frozen.

and the actions you have taken which acknowledge
that fact (and there are some) are more laudable than
the actions (again, some) where you sweep it away...

on balance, i'd say you're even doing a good job.
but why "balance"? acknowledge-all, sweep-none.

you can respond if you like, or just re-close this...

understand that some people just can't upgrade their
machines, but most of what's been added crashes on Snow Leopard, so
they wouldn't be able to use a good portion of it anyway. They
(you) didn't lose any functionality.

I'll add a FAQ here with a link to the stable build. I'm
curious, though, what actions I've taken to "sweep it away?" I feel
like I've been nothing but straightforward, but if I can do better,
I'd like to hear about it.

i'm a fan. been saying nice stuff about you,
just because i thought it needed to be said...
same with this post here. so you're doing fine.

you can close this thread. or even delete it.

pondered the decision to discontinue Snow Leopard support for
months, just trying to handle it the best way possible. I'll edit
the FAQ tomorrow, and I may have a build soon that will still work
with 64-bit SL and allow updates, only excluding 32-bit, but not
sure on that yet.

Brett
