Just starting to work with with Markdown and Marked. Tried to create a simple 2-level list as follows, where Pepperoni and Mushrooms are sub-list of Toppings. Instead of a 2-level list, in Marked it just comes out as a single 5-item list.

If I type the same thing in mvAlt, it shows up (in Preview window) as expected.

Pizza

  • Crust
  • Toppings
    • Pepperoni
    • Mushrooms
  • Tomato sauce

    Hi Randy,

Try using 2-4 space or a tab before the indented list items. Marked uses MultiMarkdown, which doesn't conform exactly to standard Markdown list conventions. Using multiple spaces is, however, backwards-compatible with Markdown, so doing so will not cause problems in other processors.

    Thanks,
    Brett

    Thanks. Got it to work.

I had tried a few variations, such as two spaces, or aligning with the text above, but nothing seemed to work.

Doing more experimentation, I find that it indents as a sub-list if there are 4, 5, 6, or 7 spaces on the line before the bullet ('*'). Use 8 spaces, and it's no longer even recognized as a list.

(Note: Using Aquamacs in Mac Lion for text editing)
