There's no penalty for whitespace, bee generous with it.</p>

The above suggestion does work. I am curious, the site <a href="https://codebeautify.org/markdown-viewer">Markdown Preview</a> does render the elements without an empty line between the paragraph and the elements, see the example provided below. Not a big deal, as I will use your empty line method. I do wonder, "Does Markdown have a RFC or Spec?"</p>

You're using MultiMarkdown, which differs even from Marked's other built in processor (GFM Discount). The thing is, though, that using a blank line between elements works in EVERY Markdown processor, so there's no reason not to do it. It's easier to read, too.</p>
