Loading . . . error iThoughtsX and Marked2
Not so much a question, more an answer.
I have a number of mind maps that I use through marked2 to create word documents. The mind maps enable me to select and order elements to be included in the final document. Marked2 is vital for the transition.
Recently I could not open an iThoughts file in Marked2 and was completely stymied as to why so!
After many hours of re trying, reinstalling, restarting etc etc I was making no progress so decided to export from iThoughts in a way which would reveal text or code of which I was unaware.
Deep in the document I found a
which had no business being there. I removed this
, Marked2 working well again.
There were thirty other
statements in the file, but this one was different as it did not have the "##" or "###" in front of the
that the others had.
Lesson: when having problems using Marked 2 with a document look for any stray
instructions and remove them one by one until the problem disappears.
Keep up the good work Brett.

I'm curious how those tags got into the markup, as I use Marked with
iThoughts all the time and haven't run into this. Was this a formatting
issue in the map contents, such as HTML markup within the notes of the
nodes?

Good question.
There was a stage in the development of iThoughts when the line breaks were disappearing if I did not use some weird <br /> symbols.
There still remains an issue where the opening line of a node will be printed large (an <h1> or <h2> “look”) while the rest of the contents of the node will appear regular size, with a <p> “look”.
I use the iThoughts app incorrectly (at least not in the way in which it was intended by Craig to be used, as his support system has told me) as an outlining tool for producing orders of worship for handouts. Hence I need to get the app to behave differently from its design.
To guarantee the text all looks the same I have added a "<p> line break line break" at the top of each box in my templates. In the notes added to a node this is not needed; I have accidentally moved the contents of a node (with <p> at the top) onto the notes added.
When I removed this accidental html tag the Marked2 process started working again.
I will send the offending file not-for-publication to let you try it. The error is in Prayers for the people option Form 5 NZ1's notes. I think.

Fair enough. I recall some formatting niggles in the early days of
iThought's Markdown export, but I haven't had to do anything weird for a
while now. Glad you solved it, though!
