Marked 2 becomes non-responsive when accessing a new directory.
Hi,
Marked 2 becomes non-responsive and I have to do a Force Quit. This occurs on Big Sur MacOS.
When Marked 2 is reading a file in a directory for the first time, the MacOS pops up a window to ask me if I want to grant it permission to read files in that directory. I click "yes".
After that, Marked 2 becomes non-responsive and I have to do a Force Quit.
Then, when I open that file again using Marked 2, things work. Thus, I think this non-responsive problem is tied to accessing a directory for the first time when it doesn't have permissions to in the first place.

Note: I understand the update permission button in the Advanced tab of the Preferences. However, I don't want to grant access to the whole disk. So, that solution won't work for me. It be nice to get this working again as this worked before.

The Update Permissions doesn't fix this particular bug anyway. I haven't tracked down the issue with granting permissions yet, but have been working on it. The easy fix right now is to switch to the Paddle version and avoid sandboxing permissions entirely. I'll provide a crossgrade license for free if you're willing to go that route.

What is the Paddle version? I can probably wait for you to track down this issue.
If you need any additional information to help you figure this out, please let me know.

Paddle is the vendor through which I sell outside of the Mac App Store.
It's the exact same app, just without the sandboxing restrictions that
lead to this particular bug. Given the number of hours I've spent trying
to replicate it in a way that makes it fixable, I have no ETA on how
long it will take to get a fix out. I'd recommend trying the Paddle
version. You can download it at https://marked2app.com (grab the free
trial) and if it works for you, just let me know and I'll get you a
license for it before the trial runs out.

Hi Brett,
I don't know if you deployed an updated or not. But it appears that upgrading to BigSur 11.2 made the problem go away.
Just FYI.
Thanks,
Scott
