Broken Picture link on Marked preview in Bear App
Hello support team,
Today I did work on a Bear Note that includes some pictures that I added using copy/paste. I did use the "Preview in Marked" function that worked well in the past with "text only" notes. With the picture in the Bear note I could see only a "broken link" symbol in Marked.
Is there any setting that I am missing? See the attached screenshot.
Thank you!

I'm not sure if Bear handles posted images differently than dragged images, so could you confirm that the issue still exists if you drag and drop the image rather than pasting? I would also be curious what format the image is (jpeg, PNG, Tiff, PDF, etc.).

Hello,
I did make an other test, I did drag and drop a png file into Bear App, but after some seconds the Marked preview gets updated only with a broken link again.

And what format is the image?

Hello Brett, It was a PNG image. I did try a JPG as well, with the same behaviour.

Could you export the note in Bear format and share for testing?

Sure .. I did export that Note as MD, and zipped all the files from the export. Find it attached.

Creating a note from your Markdown works fine for me, all three pictures show up if I drag or paste them in, but it would be most helpful if you export as a Bear Note and attach that:

Also, just to be sure we're on the same page, which version of Bear and which version of Marked are you using? I'm testing with 1.7.16 and Marked 2.6.1.

Hello Brett,
My Marked Version is the same as you, but Bear is Version 1.7.18 (8615)
I did also add the export in the bearnote format.
thanks

I'm unsure what to tell you at this point. Loading your note and previewing it works fine for me:
One other thing you can provide me is an HTML export from Marked. Use ⌘S to save as HTML, then disable the "Include style sheet in output" option. Attach the resulting HTML file here. This will help me determine what exactly Bear is sending to Marked and where it might be going wrong.
You might need to also post this issue to Bear support and see if they have any suggestions.

Yes ... I was quite sure that only me is facing that problem, because I could not find any thread related to a problem like I have right now.
And I have that problem with ALL notes including pictures. All of them result in broken links when previewing in Marked.
It will be my next steps to consult the Bear Support Team.
Thank you anyway, Brett

Oh, I did forget to attach the HTML export from Marked.

Thanks for the HTML file. I think I may see the issue: try going into
Preferences->Processor and making sure that "Preserve line breaks" is
disabled, then test again. This is an issue that I think Bear is going
to correct soon, but in the meantime the encoded image being embedded
contains line breaks, which Marked then tries to preserve, breaking the
rendering.

Good morning Brett,
Yes - that was it. Now I am able to see the pictures! Thank you very, very much!
