Page Breaks do not work (Marked 2.5.43 + GitHub style + Export to Paginated PDF)

Hello,

I have "Replace horizontal rules with page breaks" enabled, but still can't get '----' to work as page breaks. Exported PDF plainly ignores '----' so neither horizontal rules nor page breaks appear.

In older threads on this topic I've read that <!--BREAK--> should be used as a workaround in case ---- do not function, but in my case <!--BREAK--> just prints out plainly in the document and is not recognized as a tag.

macOS 10.15.6, Ulysses (TextBundle export), Marked 2.5.43 (990), GitHub style, Paginated PDF export
