If I try to escape the parents in the link with backslash (), Ulysses for ex. doesn't like it, replaces it with %5C, which Marked2 then doesn't like and again renders as extra parens. Not sure of what I approach I need to take to handle this properly, or if Marked2 has an issue.</li>

would be directly related to the library included for that<br>
functionality. You can work around it by using the percent encoded<br>
version of parens:</p>
