correct) until I noticed that it worked on GitHub without (which
feels cleaner).</p>
<p>But if this is a case where that's a GitHub specific behavior
vs. something that's generally supported, I'll definitely consider

but parenthesis will then break. This seems to be something that

(and Mediawiki as well) recently updated to handle, but it's not
