Superscript not working

Here is my file:

#Title
This is a test of ^superscript.

The output correctly parses the hash as a section title, but doesn't parse the ^, instead it renders it verbatim.

In MultiMarkdown, superscript only works immediately following a character, e.g. "Word^sup".

    Thanks,
