This is happening because Scrivener inserts paragraph breaks after every return. It can be overridden by using ctrl-return, but then it messes up formatting in the Scrivener view of things. I've added a routine to the next update that will look for the resulting double-spaced lines containing table syntax (pipes) and fix this.
